The State Bank of India (SBI) has released two separate notifications for the recruitment of Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) posts in its clerical cadre. A total of 10,662 vacancies are available under the regular recruitment and special backlog drive. Educational Qualification
Candidates must have a Graduation Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government. Candidates with an integrated dual degree must complete the qualification on or before 31 December 2026.
Final-year or final-semester students may also apply provisionally, provided they produce proof of passing the graduation examination on or before 31 December 2026 if provisionally selected. Certain matriculate Ex-servicemen with the prescribed Armed Forces education certificate and required service period are also eligible.
Age Limit
The prescribed age limit is calculated as on 01 April 2026.

- Candidates should have been born between 02 April 1998 and 01 April 2006, both dates inclusive.

SBI Clerk Salary 2026
Selected candidates will receive salary according to the SBI Junior Associate pay scale.

- Pay Scale: ₹24,050 – ₹64,480
- Starting Emoluments: Approximately ₹46,000 per month at a metro posting, including applicable allowances
- Probation Period: Minimum 6 months

SBI Clerk Selection Process 2026
The selection process consists of an Online Preliminary Examination, Online Main Examination and Local Language Proficiency Test, wherever applicable. There is a penalty of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer in the objective tests.

The final merit list will be prepared State-wise and category-wise based on the aggregate marks obtained in the Main Examination. Eligible trained SBI apprentices may receive bonus marks as prescribed in the recruitment notification.
Local Language Proficiency Test
Candidates who are provisionally selected and did not study the selected local language in Class 10 or Class 12 will have to qualify the Local Language Proficiency Test (LPT) before joining. Candidates who have studied the selected language in Class 10 or Class 12 and can provide the relevant certificate are exempted from the test.
